Compression

Compression is a digital and glass sculpture that physically and digitally compresses the brain while watching AI slop. The piece follows an AI "fruit trend" character who loses her job to automation, spiraling into a depressed, overripe fantasy world where labor, tech, and desire collide. Beneath the surface, pulsing, mathematical Gray-Scott brain patterns mimic the dopamine highs and sedative lows of digital burnout.

In a nod to the Bay’s deeply rooted analog habits and defiance of tech-for-tech's-sake, this complex physical and digital sculpture was meticulously crafted without the use of AI.

This was made in collaboration with Peter Sheehan (3D animation & editing) and Cyris Kissane (Hand-coded Gray-scott pattern background with GSLS shaders)
